Microneedling with a Dr Pen

Microneedling, a procedure that uses tiny needles to puncture the skin, has gained immense popularity in recent years for its ability to improve the appearance of acne scars. While this treatment was once only available in a medical environment, microneedling devices like Dr. Pen are excellent for professional use and widely used in cosmetology 

Important for Derma Pen users:

The derma pen functions on a vibratory and up-and-down motion and must, therefore be used with caution. The Dr Pen should be used with a serum or functional gliding gel to ensure smooth needling. Ensure held securely and allowed to glide over the skin without exerting excessive pressure, and without hastily gliding over the skin.

Gliding the derma pen over the skin too fast and with too much pressure, may cause scratching, damage and scarring.

Disposable needle cartridges are provided in sterile sealed packs, and should not be re-used

Dr Pen Needle Depth Guideline

Needle depth: 0.25mm-2.5mm.
Needle length caution: 0.25mm - 0.5mm for eyes and face, 0.5mm - 1.0mm for face, neck and d collet and 1.0mm - 1.5mm for body.

Upwards of 2.0mm - 2.5mm is for professional use only.

- If used on more than one person.
- If used with a needle length longer than 0.25mm on the delicate eye area.
- If used with needle length longer than 0.5mm - 1.0mm on the face and neck area.

How do you use the Dr Pen E30?

The recommended pattern to move the pen for best results is vertical, horizontal, and then diagonal in both directions. Using a light pressure and without dragging, repeat this motion over each area two times. Use your free hand to hold the skin taught.

Extremely important Note: Do not hold the pen backwards (cartridge up) while microneedling, this will create a backflow in the pen causing the serum to fall into the device which could permanently damage the device.
